Quebec's Law 25
Quebec trade rule for restaurants and caterers, applicable throughout the Eastern Townships (Estrie).
The rule
ask only for what the reservation needs: Only the information necessary for the purposes determined before collection is collected (art. 5), and the person is informed of the purposes of the collection and of their rights (art. 8). A declared allergy is medical information, and therefore sensitive within the meaning of article 12: it is used to prepare the meal, not for promotions. Before personal information is communicated outside Quebec, a privacy impact assessment (évaluation des facteurs relatifs à la vie privée) is required (art. 17): ask any provider in writing, ZeniTech included, where your data travels.
