The rule
Customers of a licensed agency are protected by the Travel Customers Compensation Fund (Fonds d'indemnisation des clients des agents de voyages, FICAV), financed by a contribution from travellers on the price of services; buying directly from a supplier or from a business without a permit is not covered.
