The rule
December 1 to March 15: According to Québec.ca, all motorized road vehicles registered in Quebec, including rental vehicles, must be equipped for winter from December 1 to March 15; the fine is $200 to $300. The tire must bear the pictogram or be fitted with studs, and studs are permitted from October 15 to May 1 on passenger vehicles.
