Online reviews and language of service
Quebec trade rule for beauty salons and aesthetics.
The rule
Google's rules prohibit offering an incentive in exchange for a review and soliciting positive reviews selectively; the Competition Bureau (Bureau de la concurrence) reminds businesses that an employee who posts a review must disclose their connection to the salon. Clients also have the right to be informed and served in French (art. 5 of the Charter of the French Language, Charte de la langue française).
