Consent for marketing emails and text messages
Quebec trade rule for web and digital marketing agencies.
The rule
Commercial electronic messages (emails, text messages) require the recipient's consent, identification of the sender and a way to unsubscribe (Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, Loi canadienne anti-pourriel, CASL/LCAP). The rules cover your agency's own prospecting and, to be validated, campaigns sent on behalf of your clients. In Orvel: Consent is kept with the file; prospecting and campaigns go out only to people who have consented, with an unsubscribe link; messages about a requested service follow the customer's request.
